At the academy we ensure that students are not just prepared in our classrooms but that they are also prepared in practice. We refer to this process as Work Integrated Learning (WIL).

Students will participate in a optional 4 week/20 day program where they will be hosted in a external workshop. During this time they will design various components and carry this design all the way through the manufacturing process. Extra cost will apply.

				<li>2. Cutting tools – identify type of tooling.</li>
				<li>3. How to use tooling correctly.</li>
				<li>4. How to prepare work piece (steel)</li>
				<li>5. Types of steel – mild steel, stainless steel, brass etc.</li>
				<li>6. Measuring equipment – vernier, micrometer inside and outside etc.</li>
				<li>7. Read and understand CAD drawings</li>
				<li>8. Types of symbols – radius, diameter, inside diameters    etc.</li>

				<li>Inspect work piece</li>
				<li>Hand in work piece for inspection to instructor.</li>
				<li>Feedback</li>
				<li>Next project will be handed out if student passed</li>
