Scope of Code

<ul>
	<li>This Code of Conduct remains in force until the company ceases trading or until application of the Code is stopped by the Executive Committee.</li>
	<li>In this document the CAD Corporation Draughting Academy is referred to as 'the Academy'.</li>
	<li>The 'Definition of Transgressions' applies to Students who attend lectures and Students who participate in assessment.</li>
	<li>The 'Definition of Transgressions' is supported by the Academy's Disciplinary Procedure & Policy.</li>
	<li>Transgressions that are similar in nature must be taken into account when sanctions are considered against a Student.</li>
</ul>

Purpose of the code:

<ul>
	<li>To ensure that corrective and progressive action is taken when Student behaviour impacts negatively on learning progress.</li>
	<li>To ensure that Student transgressions do not impact on either the greater Student body or on staff employed at the Academy.</li>
	<li>To maintain a professional infrastructure that reflects positively on the Academy's status in the Learning and Development landscape.</li>
	<li>To provide for a facility that allows Students and staff members to maintain dignity and self-respect to the extent that the Academy remains a credible institution of learning.</li>
	<li>To foster an environment that is conducive to learning.</li>

Responsibilities 
Lecturer Responsibilities

<ul>
	<li>Explain the Code to Students</li>
	<li>Receive signed Code from Student</li>
	<li>Administer the Code in/out of class</li>
	<li>Maintain records of Student transgressions (confidential)</li>
	<li>Counsel Students who transgress the Code</li>
	<li>Report transgressions to Head of Academics</li>
</ul>

Student Responseabilities

<ul>
	<li>Read the Code</li>
	<li>Ask for clarification if there is anything in the Code that is not understood</li>
	<li>Indicate understanding by signing the last page of the Code</li>
	<li>Submit the signed last page to the  Academy no later than two (2) working days after induction</li>

NOTES REGARDING CONSEQUENCES

<ul>
	<li>The Academy takes matters of discipline in a serious light and all transgressions are investigated thoroughly.</li>
	<li>Permanent suspension from a Learning Programme should be viewed as the ultimate measure of discipline and staff will make every effort to resolve matters without resorting to such measure.</li>
	<li>All transgressions must be investigated within 48 hours from being brought to light (unless escalated to a higher body).</li>
</ul>

Right to Appeal

<ul>
	<li>It is the right of any Student to lodge an appeal if the disciplinary process followed was not fair, reasonable and lawful. </li>
	<li>The Appeal process and related forms are available from the Head of Academics.</li>
</ul>

Safe Reporting

<ul>
	<li>The Academy supports an open and transparent environment where staff members and students are encouraged to contribute to the integrity of systems, processes and quality.</li>
	<li>Students are encouraged to bring any issue to the attention of the Management Team, where such issue either contributes to the success of the Academy OR detracts from the success of the Academy.</li>
	<li>Any matter reported will remain confidential and victimisation is not allowed.</li>
