Welcome to the Fitness Instructor qualification and certification program, designed to equip aspiring fitness professionals with the knowledge, skills, and attributes necessary to excel in the dynamic field of fitness instruction.
This comprehensive program is tailored to prepare learners to function effectively as Fitness Instructors, empowering them to design and implement personalized physical activity programs for individuals and groups. In addition, participants will learn to conduct health-related fitness assessments, monitor progress, and foster a supportive and motivating fitness environment. This qualification also includes the part qualification Occupational Certificate: Group Fitness Instructor, SAQA ID118691 as part of the curriculum.
Our program is unique as it contains triple accreditation and recognition by leading bodies, including;
- The QCTO for local acceptance and compliance as a Fitness Instructor as required by the industry.
- Registration with REPSA (Register of Exercise Professionals South Africa, https://www.repssa.com/), part of ICREPS (International Confederation of Registers for Exercise Professionals) for international recognition and compliance as a Fitness Instructor.
- Mapping and dual qualification awards for the following ITEC fitness qualifications:
- VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Exercise to Music) (603/4481/7) – 2150
- VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Gym-based Exercise) (603/4483/0) – 2153
- VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Certificate in Instructing Strength and Conditioning (603/6320/4) – 2275

Integrated Assessment:
Integrated formative assessment
The skills development provider will use the curriculum to guide them on the stipulated internal assessment criteria and weighting. They will also apply the scope of practical skills and applied knowledge as stipulated by the internal assessment criteria. This formative assessment together with work experience leads to entrance in the external integrated summative assessment.
Integrated summative assessment
An external integrated summative assessment, conducted through the relevant QCTO Assessment Quality Partner is required for the issuing of this qualification. The external integrated summative assessment will focus on the exit level outcomes and associated assessment criteria.
The assessment will be conducted through written assessment and the evaluation of practical tasks at decentralised approved assessment sites by a panel of assessors evaluated by assessor(s) registered with the AQP.
