Financial benefits

Learnership Tax Allowance

Claim significant tax deductions for entering into registered learnership agreements. Deductions include annual allowances (up to R40,000 for NQF Level 1-6 and R20,000 for NQF Level 7-10, with increased amounts for learners with disabilities) and completion allowances (additional R40,000 or R20,000, also increased for learners with disabilities). These are available for agreements entered into before 1 April 2027.

Employment Tax Incentive (ETI)

Reduce the cost of hiring young work seekers (18-29 years) by lowering your PAYE liability (up to R1,500 per qualifying employee per month for a maximum of 24 months). The employee must earn between R2,000 and R6,500 monthly, have a South African ID, and not be a domestic worker or related to the employer.  ETI is available until 28 February 2029.
