AIE gives school leavers nine future-ready schools and more than 80 qualifications to choose from, so your child can find a direction that matches their talent. Study runs full time, part time, online or hybrid across campuses in Midrand, Cape Town, Greenside and Hatfield, and a student advisor helps with the choice.
Yes. AIE maintains recognised accreditation standards, and every qualification page lists its accreditation details, SAQA registration and NQF level, so you can check any programme yourself. The accreditations and memberships page covers the institution as a whole.
AIE is a private institution built around applied learning rather than large lecture halls. Its qualifications run from occupational certificates through diplomas to degrees, and classes are offered full time, part time, online or hybrid, so students can attend on campus, virtually, or both. A student advisor stays with them through enrolment.
AIE is a private higher education provider rather than a public TVET college. Artisan and technical trades sit alongside eight other schools, including business, IT, engineering, architecture and design, with qualifications up to diploma and degree level. Students apply directly to AIE and choose their own campus and learning method.
Student support is one of the four pillars of AIE’s learning methods, alongside flexibility, accessibility and anywhere-anytime access. Online and mentored programmes are built as a people-supported academic journey rather than solo study, so lecturers stay involved. If your child falls behind, the lecturer or a student advisor is the first person to contact.
Lecturers and student advisors are the first line of support, and any concern can be raised through the compliments and complaints form on this site or by calling 0861 243 663. Ask your campus directly about counselling and wellness services so you have the current arrangements before your child registers.
Class sizes vary by qualification, campus and learning method. Contact classes run in hybrid form, so a group is split between students in the room and students joining the same live session online. For the size of a specific class, ask a student advisor on 0861 243 663 before your child accepts a place.
Yes. AIE places students with employers for workplace experience, and its placement team manages the process, including memoranda of understanding and progress reporting. Employer partners gain early access to students trained in practical, industry-relevant skills, and AIE staff stay in contact with both the employer and the student for the whole placement.
Every qualification page lists career options, articulation routes into further study and the regulatory information behind the programme, so your child can see where a choice leads before enrolling. Workplace placements with employer partners add real experience, and Open Days give students the chance to meet the lecturers who teach the programme.
Yes. The application form has a parent or guardian section, compulsory for applicants under 18, and a separate section naming the person responsible for the account. A student advisor contacts the family with next steps after applying, and parents are welcome at Open Days and on the enquiry line, 0861 243 663.
Facilities differ by campus. Midrand is the flagship site: Block A is the main campus, while Blocks B and C house the artisan campus for trades training. Cape Town, Greenside and Hatfield each have their own focus, and every campus page lists its address and what is on site.
Campuses sit in well-connected areas: Midrand at 1 Oracle Close, Greenside in Johannesburg, Hatfield in Pretoria’s student district and the Cape Town campus in De Waterkant. Contact classes are delivered in hybrid form, so a student who cannot travel every day joins the same live class online. Confirm mobility access directly with the campus.
Start with the qualification pages: each sets out duration, campuses, learning methods, career options and articulation routes into further study. If your child is weighing up two or three, book an appointment and a student advisor will work through the options, including campus, learning method and how studies will be funded.
Yes. Open Days are the usual route: students meet lecturers, walk the campus and see which qualification suits them. If those dates do not suit, book an appointment on this site and choose the campus your child wants to see.
Applications run online through applications.myaie.ac. Your child applies with their latest Grade 12 term results or final Grade 11 results, plus a copy of their South African ID, so final matric results are not needed. The admissions team then reviews the application, makes contact with next steps and guides you through enrolment.
Fees can be paid monthly, and financing is available through AIE Financial Solutions, SmartFunder and Nedbank Education Finance. Students can also be self-funded, sponsored, or funded by NSFAS. Applying early opens Early Bird pricing on some programmes. The payment and finance options page carries the current terms.
That is common, and it is what student advisors are there for. They work through interests, the nine schools and where each qualification leads before anything is signed. Open Days help too: your child can meet lecturers from several schools in one visit, and every qualification page lists the career options it opens.
Call 0861 243 663 for Johannesburg or Cape Town, or email info@aie.ac. The head office is at 1 Oracle Close, Midrand, Johannesburg. You can also submit the enquiry form below and a student advisor will follow up on the qualification you asked about.
